Bragged About Family Matters

Walmart Lasalle – Security guy mistreated family

Security guard or the guy on the entrance of Walmart Lasalle, mistreated my son, my husband and myself when we went out after shopping for birthday gifts for my youngest son, who celebrated today August 11 and other stuffs for my other children.

After I finished my work, my husband and I together with my eldest son decided to Walmart to buy a Batman toys for my youngest son as his birthday presence, who celebrated his birthday today. Despite of tiredness, I was so happy do shopping as Walmart is my favorite store to buy things for my children and for groceries. besides I promised my youngest son to get the toys he wanted.

Before, we pay the items (toys), my eldest son, asked me if he can have also a gaming headset since his headset was broken. So I said okay, you can have it. We went to pay all the items. My husband scanned first the gaming headset and it marked on the receipt the amount of $70.21. This item was the most expensive marked on the receipt. My son was the one who bring the box. When we went out, the security guy stopped us and took the gaming headset. He asked for the receipt my husband handed it to him. He was still holding the headset. He said while checking, “Oh you have a good price for the head set?”. My husband replied “Yes, it is $70.21. You can see the price on the first line of the receipt and my husband tried to point it to him.

The security guy, continue checking the item one by one and said , “ok you can go”. My husband and I said, “what about the gaming headset?”. He answered us sarcastically, “Oh you want this? You did not pay for it! Pay for it!” then he started to walk away with the gaming headset and our receipt. My husband was mad and told him , you don’t give me back my gaming headset and my receipt I will call your manager.

He stopped and gave back our receipt and the gaming headset, we waited for the manager to come out which we waited for almost 30 minutes. I tried to calm myself down because there were so many people looking at us while my husband was really mad to that guy. We doubt that, that was a manager because he looks like a janitor came from the back of the store. I thought he will solved the ethical issues or misconduct of his employee but he made it worst. He appeared and told us “there is no problem, you have your item, you can leave.”

This is the way, this security guard and manager from Walmart Lasalle treated there customer? Yes, the guy who acted as a manager said “Sorry” but in a sarcastic way while the security guard was laughing. This is unacceptable, no respect. I worked hard to earn money to buy things from this giant store spending thousands of my hard earned money and treated us this way? No respect.

  1. This is unacceptable and sounds like discrimination-to say the least! I was sickened by this story, and I feel very bad for you and your family having to tolerate such disgusting, DEGRADING behaviour. SHAME ON WALMART!! THIS SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED!! If I were you, I would print out your story and mail it (or email the link) to Walmart Canada’s Corporate Offices……1940 Argentia Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 1P9

I would also put your story all over the internet so others can share it, and complain also-I sure will be.

As someone who has bought several plants from you, I have only known you to be honest, kind, thoughtful and hard working. This is a disgrace, and Walmart should be hanging their heads in shame. But then, what can we expect from a company who has questionable labor practices, including the use of child slaves-although they say they no longer use them in their factories-here is what I read…. “The record: In order to keep their prices low, Wal-Mart employs workers abroad in 48 different countries. Millions of workers in Wal-Mart’s many sweatshop factories regularly experience health and labor violations, including routine overtime without pay and a minimum wage up to 30 percent below their country’s minimum.” A google search will find plenty of such issues related to Walmart. They don’t know the first thing about respect, and the employees that treated you and your family so disgracefully should be made to offer a full apology.

    • I made a complaint to the Human Resource for unethical behaviour. Also, we went back to Walmart the next day to talk to their head manager. The head manager said, they will gonna look into it but doubt it that they will do something about it. It was really shocking, for many years buying things, spending my hard earned money to their stores, they have treated us like this. I was just more concerned for my son, he still minor to experience such harsh and shameful situation. I’m just glad that my other 2 children were not there to witness such event.

  2. I am glad to hear this! It is good to let others know about this terrible situation, and spread the word about Walmart’s wrong-to add to a long list of their wrongs. It is very sad your son had to witness this, and I too am glad your other two children were not there. This is such a shameful situation to be sure! 🙁

    • I usually not to post anything like this but I was really annoyed that day. I don’t want any of my children witnessed such a horrible incident. Shame on this employees you work in big store and feelings they owed the world, where in fact we the custumers are the one whose making Walmart more richer and have the employees get paid.
